CAREER OPPORTUNITY FOR ENGINEERS AS RTO VEHICLE INSPECTOR
The Engineering graduates are a privileged group in terms of variety of career opportunities available to them in technical as well as non technical fields. Though the fresh graduates from the Engineering branches are facing the ‘problem of plenty’ in finding the jobs, the passion to grab the available career opportunities could set the pace for finding out right career path for the engineering graduates. The dream of getting a Government job, immediately after passing the final year of Engineering examination, could be fulfilled by the recently published MPSC notification for the post of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector for Engineering graduates and the Diploma holders.
MPSC has recently published a notification for 188 vacancies of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors to be filled from eligible Engineering graduates and Diploma holders. This career opportunity for fresh Engineering graduates or diploma holders is a golden opportunity to secure a permanent Government job with a good starting salary and an opportunity to climb the promotion ladder in RTO office. In RTO office, the duties and responsibilities of Motor Vehicle Inspector include the work of registration, inspection of motor vehicles, testing of motor drivers and conductors, checking of motor vehicles and detecting offences under the Motor Vehicles Act. The eligibility criteria to be fulfilled for these posts include age group between 19 to 38 years, completion of graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering or Automobile Engineering or Industrial Engineering branches, respectively. The candidates should also fulfil the physical fitness criteria including the height criteria, chest expansion criteria and color blindness test as stipulated from time to time. The eligibility criteria related with an experience of one year could be fulfilled during the probationary phase also and is not the mandatory criteria for filling the online admission form and appearing for this examination. There is a separate reservation quota for women candidates, Sports quota personnel as well as Ex-Service Men quota for these posts. The last date for filling the online form on MPSC website for the Asst Motor Vehicle Inspectors posts is 19th Feb 2017 and the Preliminary examination for the same is scheduled on 30th Apr 2017.
The selection procedure for the posts of Asst Motor Vehicle Inspector consists of Preliminary examination and Mains Examination. The Preliminary Examination consists of a total number of 100 MCQs to be attempted in one hour duration through an online mode of examination. The syllabus of Preliminary examination includes questions on- General Studies, Mental Ability and the latest trends and technological developments in Mechanical and Automobile Engineering branches, respectively. The focus on current affairs, mental ability, basic knowledge of general studies subjects and fundamental knowledge of engineering subjects would be helpful for the aspirants to crack the preliminary examination. After qualifying in Preliminary examination, the candidates have to appear for Mains Examination scheduled on 06th Aug 2017.
The Mains Examination consists of a total number of 150 MCQs to be attempted in 90 minutes duration through an online mode of examination. The pattern of Mains examination includes total number of 120 compulsory questions on Mechanical and Automobile Engineering and 30 questions on either Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering subjects. The difficulty level of questions would be of Engineering Diploma level examinations. MPSC has not filled the vacancies of Asst Motor Vehicle Inspectors in last few years and after a gap of more than five years, the notification for Asst Motor Vehicle Inspectors has been published by MPSC. This examination is a golden opportunity for the final year graduation students of Engineering branches as well as the Engineering Diploma holders. The success in this examination is very much possible for the aspirants within the available short span of less than three months with right strategy and well directed preparation under the right guidance. Basic knowledge of the syllabus and the regular practice of MCQs could put the candidate on success path of these examinations. So it’s time to be proactive, to be alert for all the examination deadlines and preparing in a right direction to crack this examination.
